Alice Sabrina Ismail is an Associate Professor with more than ten years of experience as an academic staff, researcher, and writer in Architecture, History, Theory and Criticism, focusing on politics and architecture, national identity, Islamic architecture, and architectural education pedagogy. Graduated with PhD from QUT, Australia, in the year 2008 till present; she has written many journals and books on the role of national identity and architecture towards sustainable community development and the role of architecture education in Malaysia. She is the Director of the Architecture School in the Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Currently, she is leading the national research project on the Future Direction of Malaysia Architecture Education (2020-2030) under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Malaysia Higher Education (MOHE) in collaboration with the Board of Malaysia Architects (LAM), MAPSM (Council of Malaysian Architecture Education) and COHAS (Council Heads of Architecture Schools). She has won local and national awards in the architectural field and is presently actively involved in many research collaborations with prominent international architecture schools, including the B40 community research projects, to encourage a sustainable living environment in society.
