SUHAIMI FADZIR (b. 1963) is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice is motivated by his non-traditional research-based practice driven by observing our history, culture, nature, context, civilization and the intersections between science, art and architecture.
Suhaimi studied art and architecture at Washington University, St Louis, USA and earned Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Art in the late 1980s. His works has been extensively published and he has lectured at various academic institutions throughout the USA and Malaysia. His artworks collected by institutions, corporate and private collectors worldwide.
Suhaimi’s art practice has displayed a consistent sculptural quality, and his hybrid term “Archipainting” has been used since 1980s in reference to his artworks, a concept that he developed in which, blends fine art with structural intricacies and special deconstruction of architecture.
